Introduction
Co-organised by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and Tuen Mun District Council, with Active Concept as the programme partner, "Open Up Tuen Mun @ West Kowloon" will be held on 24 March 2019 at the Art Park of West Kowloon Cultural District.
As one of the earliest settlements, “Tuen Mun” appeared in history even earlier than “Hong Kong”. It was home to many fishermen, and was developed under the New Town policy into a modern, major residential area. It has remained an important town of transport hub, and is part of the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge connecting the region.
"Open Up Tuen Mun @ West Kowloon" is a community engagement event that aims to explore the long-standing traditional culture and present the regional characteristics, art and culture of Tuen Mun from the perspective of past, present and future.
There will be three thematic areas at the Art Park, namely “Village Culture”, “The TM Community” and “Creative Wonderland”. Various art groups and stakeholders from Tuen Mun have engaged in this community event to present a wide range of wonderful programmes, including
1. TM Vlog – Video Exhibition;
2. Stage Performance;
3. Tuen Mun Market;
4. Community Story Sharing and Workshops;
5. Fa Pau Exhibition & Parade;
6. Interactive Street Art, and
7. Family Playtime.
